Over 90% of dog owners planning a wedding want their dog to be part of it. Around one in five actually manage it.
That's a big gap, and it's rarely about the venue saying no. It's that on a day when everyone you'd normally ask is busy being at your wedding, nobody is free to look after your dog.
Why dogs are becoming part of the day
Dogs are family, so it's natural they'd be part of the biggest day of the year. What's changed is that couples are no longer settling for a photo at the end, they're giving their dogs a proper role.

Why so many couples don't manage it
The reasons are almost always practical.
Some venues don't allow dogs, or allow them only in certain areas. Some couples find out too late and have already booked. And for many, the sticking point is simpler: they can't work out who is actually going to look after the dog.
A wedding day is long. Somebody has to walk them, feed them, keep them calm during the noisy bits, get them to the right place for photographs and take them home at the end. Asking a guest means that guest misses your ceremony. Asking a family member means asking them to work at your wedding.
