Why we started
Most couples we speak to have already decided they want their dog at the wedding. What they don't have is anyone to look after them.
Usually it means asking a family member or a friend, which means that person spends the day watching a dog instead of watching you get married. Or it means leaving the dog at home and missing out on having them there at all.
We started Wedding Day Dog Nanny in 2019 so there was a third option. Someone who is there just for your dog, so everyone you love gets to be a guest.
We’re based in Cornwall and support couples across the county. We occasionally travel for Devon weddings when availability allows.

Our Story
I'm Sarah, and the reason I do this is that my own dogs weren't at my wedding.
We couldn't find anyone to look after Kaiser Chief, our golden retriever, and Dolly, our chihuahua. There was nobody to ask and no service to book, so they stayed at home. There isn't a single picture of the six of us together from that day.
I've been around dogs my whole life. With a big family, nearly everyone had one, so my earliest memories all have a dog in them somewhere. I'm still the person at a party who ends up on the floor with the dog!
It turns out a lot of people feel the same way. And plenty of them are travelling down to get married here, which makes bringing a dog harder still. I started Wedding Day Dog Nanny in 2019 so that nobody else would be stuck the way we were.
Most of the dogs we look after have never met us before the wedding day. It doesn't usually take them long to decide we're all right! A pocket full of treats, a calm voice, no rush, and even the wariest ones are usually curled up next to us by the afternoon.
