Since 2019 we've cared for dogs at weddings all over Cornwall, from beach venues and working farms to castles and country manors. Along the way we've learned where the shade is on a hot afternoon, which ceremony spaces are secure enough for a dog to deliver the rings, and where a tired dog can go for a quiet sleep when it's all become a bit much.

This is our guide to Dog friendly wedding venues in Cornwall, It isn't a ranking. Each venue suits a different couple and a different dog, and we've tried to tell you honestly what the day is like for your dog there.

Four questions to ask any venue

  1. Can our dog be part of the ceremony itself, indoors and outdoors?

  2. Which rooms or areas can our dog go into during the day?

  3. Is there a safe, quiet space where they can rest?

  4. Is there anywhere secure for a walk or a stretch of the legs?

Venue dog policies can change, so please always check the details directly with your venue when you book.

When your venue has dog restrictions

Some of Cornwall's most beautiful venues only allow dogs in the gardens, or not indoors at all. That doesn't have to mean leaving your dog out.

At venues like these, we often care for your dog off site, usually at your holiday home or accommodation nearby. Then we bring them to the venue in time for the ceremony or the photographs, and take them back afterwards to rest. Your dog is part of the moments that matter to you, and gets a calm, familiar space for the rest of the day.

If you've fallen in love with a venue and worried the dog rules rule it out, tell us on your free video call. There's usually a way.

North coast

Newquay · Private beach venue · Dogs: welcome on the beach all year round · Rest space: the cottage

Lusty Glaze has the most relaxed beach feel of anywhere we work. Because it's a private beach, there are none of the seasonal dog restrictions you'll find on many Cornish beaches, so your dog can be on the sand with you whatever month you marry.

Every dog we've cared for here has had the best time, stretching their legs on the beach and ending up in some fantastic photographs with the cove behind them.

The cottage is close by, so we can settle your dog somewhere calm and nip them out for photos whenever you need them, then back again for a rest while you soak up the ocean. And the staff here are some of the most dog-friendly we've met, which makes a real difference to how relaxed the whole day feels.

"From initial consultation with Sarah, who was so lovely, to the pre-wedding call with Katie and the service she provided on the day, our wedding day would not have been the same without this service! Katie was fantastic with our dog and made sure her needs were met the entire day, leaving us stress free but also including our fur baby in every element of the wedding, from ceremony to photos to first dance!"

Lusty Glaze wedding, July 2024

One practical thing to know: the beach is reached by around 120 steps, so if your dog is older or finds steps hard, mention it on your video call and we'll plan around it.

Perranporth · Beachside venue · Dogs at venue: Yes · Beach: dogs welcome all year, on leads 10am–6pm in July and August · Rest space: on site

The Seiners Arms sits right next to Perranporth beach, which welcomes dogs all year round. The only rule is that dogs stay on leads between 10am and 6pm in July and August, which doesn't really affect a wedding day: a walk on the lead is still a walk on the beach, and by early evening they're free to have a proper run. That makes it perfect for taking your dog off for a beach walk or a wander through the dunes between the ceremony and the meal.

Winnie and Daisy had the most wonderful day here at Emelia and Jack's wedding, with Katie by their side throughout. Both can be a little unsure in new places, so having someone with them all day who could go at their pace meant they could simply relax and enjoy being part of the celebrations.

St Agnes · Pub and cove venue · Dogs: welcome · Rest space: dedicated rooms

Driftwood Spars is ideal for beach-loving couples. Saying "I do" on the cliff top here is pretty spectacular, and your dog can be right there with you for it.

Afterwards, the beach is just a short walk down the hill, and it makes the most beautiful backdrop for photos: golden sand, rocks and the sea behind you. We helped little Nula, in a flower collar to match the bouquet, sit proudly between the newlyweds for their beach portraits. Keeping a small dog settled and looking at the camera, with waves and new people all around, is where a dedicated nanny really earns their place.

With dedicated rooms on site, your dog always has a quiet, comfortable base to rest in between the moments you want them close.

Newquay · Small, intimate venue · Dogs: welcome · Rest space: dog-friendly rooms

We've cared for several dogs here, including anxious dogs whose couples worried they'd become overwhelmed. Treseren is designed for small, intimate weddings, and that suits a nervous dog beautifully. Fewer guests means more control over the environment, so we can choose exactly when and where your dog joins the photos without worrying them.

With dog-friendly rooms on site, your dog has a calm, familiar space to retreat to whenever they need it, and is never far from the celebrations.

Milo spent his day here with Katie, and it's fair to say he fell completely in love with her. The two of them had the most wonderful day together, and he was there, happy and relaxed, for all the moments that mattered.

West Cornwall and Penwith

St Ives · Castle hotel and grounds · Dogs: gardens only, not inside · Rest space: off site

Tregenna welcomes dogs in the gardens for photographs, but they aren't permitted inside. For a lot of couples that sounds like a dealbreaker, and it really doesn't have to be. We care for your dog off site, usually at your holiday home, then bring them to the venue in time for the photos in the gardens. Your dog is there for the pictures you'll treasure, then heads back somewhere quiet and familiar to rest while you carry on celebrating.

Carbis Bay, near St Ives · Beachfront hotel · Dogs: welcome inside and out · Rest space: nearby accommodation, less than a minute's walk away or your holiday home nearby

The views here are something else. The hotel opens straight out onto the beach, so your dog can be in the photos with golden sand and that famous turquoise water behind you.

Bumble made the most of it, joining the newlyweds down on the sand for some beautiful beach photos.

Dogs are welcome both inside and outside the venue, so your dog can be part of the ceremony wherever it takes place. Many of our couples here are staying in holiday homes nearby, so we often care for dogs there and bring them to the venue for the ceremony, the photos, or both. Your dog gets the big moments with you, and a quiet, familiar place to rest for the rest of the day.

St Ives · Hotel with gardens · Dogs: dog-friendly · Rest space: your room, or a nearby holiday home

St Ives Harbour Hotel is dog-friendly, and it's easy to involve your dog in the ceremony and the photographs, with lovely gardens as a backdrop.

We cared for Bella and Honey, two gorgeous little pups, at a luxury holiday home nearby. It was just a short walk to the venue, so they could relax in peace for most of the day and join their family for the photos.

Near Penzance · Wedding barn · Dogs: welcome · Rest space: dedicated area for dogs

The staff at Chypraze make a real fuss of the dogs, and there's an area set aside for them to rest, plus the beach nearby. One thing to know: there are geese wandering around the grounds, so dogs need to stay on their leads throughout. It's something we plan for from the start, so your dog can still enjoy every part of the day safely.

Camborne · Farm venue · Dogs: welcome throughout · Rest space: dedicated rooms

Stennack is a lovely farm venue that's dog-friendly throughout, with dedicated rooms where your dog can rest and recharge between the moments you want them close. The grounds have space for gentle local walks, and it's only a short drive to the cliff tops and the beach if you'd like photos in more than one location.

Arlo, a big-hearted yellow Labrador, made the most of all of it: walks around the grounds, time to relax in his room, and a starring role in the photos.

Mid Cornwall

Near Truro · Barn, indoor or outdoor ceremony · Dogs: welcome · Rest space: cottages on site

Couples love the barn and its surroundings, with the choice of marrying inside or out. The cottages are a short walk away, which gives your dog somewhere comfortable and safe to rest between the moments you want them there for.

Some of our smallest guests have had the loveliest days here. We've cared for two tiny dogs here who were very much part of the celebrations, and the photos say it better than we can.

Near Truro · Working farm · Dogs: on leads at all times · Rest space: plenty of rooms to choose from

Nancarrow has the grandeur of a large wedding venue with a lovely country feel. Because it's a working farm, dogs stay on their leads throughout the day. There's lots of choice when it comes to rooms to care for your dog in. The big dining and kitchen area is where we often end up eating with the photographers and catching up, which is one of the nicer parts of a long day.

Leads on doesn't mean missing out, though. There are plenty of areas to explore together, and Bertie certainly made the most of them, looking very dapper in his tuxedo bandana.

Truro · Hotel · Dogs: welcome · Rest space: dog-friendly bedrooms

The Alverton holds a special place for us: it's where we cared for our very first wedding dog, Flossy, back in 2019. We've been back for many weddings since, and it's always a joy. The ceremony room is beautiful, and the dog-friendly bedrooms mean your dog has a comfortable, quiet base for the day, just a few steps from the celebrations.

One of our favourite Alverton memories is Miss Bean the corgi, who had the very important job of delivering the rings to her pawrents, and carried it off beautifully, in a red bow to match the groom's tie

Near St Austell · Winery · Dogs: welcome inside and out · Rest space: on site

We've cared for dogs at weddings at Knightor most years, and it's always a pleasure to be back. One autumn wedding that stands out is Tāne's, a beautiful day with Sarah by his side. With dogs welcome inside and out, and space on site for them to rest, Knightor makes it easy for your dog to be part of the whole day, from the ceremony to the photos.

South and east Cornwall

Near Fowey · Country manor and grounds · Dogs: welcome throughout the venue · Rest space: large living area or dog-friendly bedrooms

We cared for Teddy here on one of the hottest days on record. The grounds have some wonderful old trees, and that's where he spent the afternoon: a blanket to lie on, damp cool towels, a bowl of water, and a breeze coming through. He slept there happily until early evening, then came back inside with everyone else. If you're marrying here in July or August, that shade is the reason it works.

Dogs are welcome throughout the venue, too, and when it's time for a proper rest there's a large living area or dog-friendly bedrooms to settle into.

Fowey · Harbourside hotel with gardens · Dogs: welcome in the ceremony room · Rest space: dog-friendly room, supervised

Dogs are welcome in the ceremony room here, so your dog can be right there as you say your vows, and the gardens are lovely for photos afterwards. Between the big moments, your dog rests in a dog-friendly room, where dogs need to be supervised, so their nanny stays with them and they're never left on their own.

Ozzy was only a puppy at his parents' wedding here. He had the best day, then snoozed in his bed in the room all afternoon, because the excitement had been a lot.

Rame Peninsula · Clifftop fort · Dogs: welcome inside and out · Rest space: dog-friendly rooms on site

Polhawn has views for days, and dogs are welcome both inside and out. We've been part of many outdoor ceremonies here, and with dog-friendly rooms on site, we can stay close by with your dog and bring them out whenever you want them.

It's also just a short walk down to the beach, perfect for letting your dog explore and for capturing some really special photos with the sea behind you.

St Mellion, Tamar Valley · Castle and estate · Dogs: Yes · Rest space: dog-friendly ground-floor bedroom

Pentillie has a dog-friendly bedroom on the ground floor, which makes a comfortable base for your dog all day, plus plenty of walks and nature to explore. If you're lucky enough to marry in the little chapel, it's a beautiful walk down.

"Our pups loved her so much. It was perfect to have our dogs involved in our day without a family member having to be responsible for them and missing important moments." Mr and Mrs Greaves, Pentillie Castle, September 2024

Upton Cross, near Liskeard · Outdoor ceremony spaces and woodland · Dogs: welcome inside and out · Rest space: dog-friendly rooms

The Green has some wonderful ceremony spaces, and dogs are welcome both inside and out, so your dog can be part of it wherever you say your vows. With woodland walks to explore, it's a lovely venue for dogs who like a sniff and an adventure, and the dog-friendly rooms give them somewhere comfortable to rest between the big moments.

Mack spent his day here with Katie, looking every inch the wedding guest in a sage green bow to match the groom's tie. Big, fluffy and full of smiles, he sat proudly with the newlyweds for their photos, and it's hard to find a happier face in the album.

St Neot, near Liskeard · Barns with country views · Dogs: welcome · Rest space: the accommodation

Trevenna was one of the first venues we ever worked at, and over seven years we've cared for everyone from teeny tiny Rex to golden retrievers Nico and Hovis. The staff adore dogs of every shape and size.

The accommodation is far enough from the bustle to be a proper escape for your dog, but only a very short walk when it's time for photos. And there are secluded spots for pictures if your dog is a little nervous of crowds.

Near Lostwithiel · Historic estate and stately home · Dogs: welcome inside and out, on leads · Rest space: dog-friendly rooms

Boconnoc is one of Cornwall's grand historic estates, set in beautiful countryside, with its own properties on the estate where wedding parties can stay. It was named Wedding Venue of the Year at the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2025–26.

Dogs are welcome both inside and outside, and there are dog-friendly rooms where your dog can rest between the big moments. The grounds are beautiful, with lovely walks to explore. There are lots of animals on the estate, including sheep, so dogs always stay on their leads.

Mabel spent her day here with us, enjoying the walks around the grounds and being part of the celebrations.

Just over the border

Near Exeter, Devon · Manor house and grounds

Rockbeare has beautiful grounds for a dog to explore, and it's where we were part of one of our favourite wedding surprises. We collected the couple's dog and brought him to the venue so he could make a surprise appearance for the bride.

It's the kind of moment that makes a wedding day, and we loved being part of it.

We're based in Cornwall, but we do take on Devon weddings when our diary allows, so do ask.

Wherever you're getting married

Every venue is laid out its own way, and every dog copes with a wedding differently. That's why we plan your dog's day around both.

Around ten weeks before your wedding, you'll have a video call with the nanny who'll actually be there on the day. We talk through your venue, your timings and your dog: what they love, what they find a bit much, and what happens if they've had enough. So on the morning, you're handing your dog to someone you've already met.

We're fully insured, Enhanced DBS checked and pet first aid trained, with more than 50 five-star reviews from couples across Cornwall.

Getting married at one of these venues, or somewhere we haven't mentioned? Book a free video call and tell us about your day and your dog.
